Family Vacation to Seaside, Oregon September/October 2010

It was time for us to take the girls on our first family vacation.  Since the girls are now in year round school and I have not seen the ocean, we decided to go to the Oregon Coast.
First is a picture of Josh and our girls after a long day in the car. Yep, even Grace got to join us!

We stopped in Astoria (home of the Goonies!) on our way.  It is about 16 miles North of Seaside.

Dany was very excited to see the trolley coming. She waived.....

and waived! Everyone aboard waived back, but I missed the shot.

 The Ocean!!!
Amazing!
When we first got to Seaside and saw the beach and the ocean, we were seriously too awestruck to remember the camera.  The girls and I were like kids in a science museum...amazed at everything we saw, the way the sand felt, how the water would squish from the sand when we stepped down, and the difference it made the closer we got to the water!  (Josh loved watching our reactions!)
The amazing view God gives us from our hotel room!

Grace loved roaming free on the sandy beaches!  No dog leash needed 8~)
Yes, this is Josh working!  But he let the client know that we were on vacation, so no more working for the rest of the weekend!!!  (I was so proud of him-way to go Babe!)

Another first for me.  I had no idea seaweed got so big!
...how would that feel getting wrapped around your legs while your playing in the water?  YIKES!!!!

I think the girls really enjoyed being so close to the beach that they could go swing and walk around while we were in the hotel room.
I really wish this picture would have turned out better :(

Josh found a nice lady to snap a picture of us as a family.

Dany was showing us how to crab walk.
She's just learned this in gym at school :)

Looking at a jelly fish washed ashore.

Dany bought a shovel and pails to build a sand castle.

Kylie modeling on the beach :)

 The Seaside Aquarium

 Harbor Seals

Dany was posing by the octopus...she thougth that was pretty neat!
Star fish
 Sea Cucumber

 Big ol' Octopus!!!
The touch tank that only Dad would touch.

The last night in Seaside Kylie decided it was time to go out into the ocean up to her waist.

The final sunset of our vacation...another of God's beautiful pictures!

This is a 3 mile bridge that we drove across on the way home.

We stopped again for this picture at the Maritime Museum in Astoria.

We sure had a wonderful time and looking forward to our next trip to the coast,
just not looking forward to the drive!
Goodbye, Oregon!
